Wet Well Pumping Station

Sewer Pumping Station

ECL have experience in installing sewer pumping stations for a vast range of projects both commercial and private. We’ll evaluate your wet well pumping station’s usage and advise on design and construction to help support your project and budget.

We have the knowledge, experience and resources to support the installation and maintenance of any sewage pumping system, providing some of the highest standards of quality and safety in the industry, along with an exceptional work ethic.

What is a wet well pumping station?

A wet well pumping station is made up of a large tank, known as a wet well that acts as the receiver for sewage from a building or a group of buildings.

The sewage will sit in the well until it reaches a predetermined level. Once the level is reached, a pump will pressurise the sewage to travel out of the wet well to a point where it enters the main sewer, or that it can then travel into the main sewer using gravity.

When should you consider a wet well pump station?

  • When the costs to manage groundworks to allow sewage to flow by gravity outweigh the cost to implement a wet well pump station.
  • When the sewer line passes over a ridge.
  • When the basement floors are too low to accommodate sewage flow by gravity
  • Where a gravity system has not been built.

Advantages of a Sewage Pump Station

  • Easy installation, which can reduce construction cost.
  • Sewage is pumped automatically without any human contact, eliminating the risk of health issues.
  • Varying sizes of pumps are available for both domestic and commercial applications.
  • The intake of the pumps is often wide to prevent blocking.
  • Sewage pumping systems are fitted with alarms to alert you to problems with the system, minimising the risk of sewage overflowing.
