Project Overview
Bovis Homes and St. Modwen teamed up to deliver Stanton Cross, the proposed flagship industrial logistics park and residential development of approximately 3,750 homes, with schools, shops, surgeries and recreational spaces. The major investment required S278 highway works in the new neighbourhood will bring improvements to infrastructure and facilities in the area. The close connection to the A1, M1, A45/A14 and Midland Mainline earmarked Stanton Cross development as the future strategic hub.
We were contracted by Bovis to provide access and roadworks under an S278 agreement and infrastructure to facilitate the development.
Works commenced on the off-line section of a new roundabout on the existing 60-mph Wellingborough Road - required under planning - to provide safe access for HGVs. Storm and outfall drainage will be installed, along with an oil interceptor to provide attenuation. To account for the live traffic, detailed traffic management planning was required for the works to be completed safely.
Due to close proximity to various existing industrial parks, railway and the town, we had to facilitate diversions of a large amount of both overhead and underground services and interface these with the planned infrastructure. Medium Gas Protection works will be completed by their specialist operators to enable work around the live gas main.
