Cricket Friendly @ Kislingbury CC

Geoff White, ECL’s Senior Planner, stepped onto the field for his highly anticipated debut, bringing with him the hopes of his previous cricket experience.
Unfortunately, his superstar credentials took a hit early in the match as spectators watched him run and stumble, resulting in a bad fall that had everyone gasping. Despite the misstep, he embodied true sportsmanship, shaking off the fall and continuing to play.
On the other side, the Taylor Wimpey team batted first and put up a commendable fight but narrowly lost, falling short by just 20 runs, with ECL scoring 135 to clinch the game.
We have to shout out to White (who turned out to have dislocated his shoulder) for showing up to work the very next day, hardly mentioning his injury! Did we mention that he didn’t talk much about his shoulder, the clavicle, or the bruises? That said, a tightlipped White persevered, demonstrating his commitment both on and off the field.

The excitement was electric as the teams lined up for their highly anticipated rematch after the close game in June. Taylor Wimpey seemed primed to light up the pitch, showcasing determination and passion that promised an unforgettable game.
What unfolded was nothing short of spectacular—a match that can only be described as ‘a real humdinger’, swinging back and forth until the very last ball. Each run was hard-fought, each delivery a duel between bat and ball.
In an extraordinary twist, the match concluded in a rare draw, with both teams locked at a respectable 128 runs each. It was a historic moment that kept the players on their feet, buzzing long after the final whistle.
A massive round of applause goes to the Taylor Wimpey team for their outstanding performance. This incredible game of cricket has set the stage for future encounters, and we can’t wait for the friendly rematch in 2025. Bring it on!
